I was born and raised in the back country of the mountains of Montana. As a child I wandered through fields of wild flowers and fished in lakes that had not been seen by another person. As a teen I climbed peaks, and as a young adult rafted raging rivers.

Now I find myself in Mississippi, where if you are standing on a hill, you can bet that you are either on a highway interchange or else someone is buried beneath your feet.
I am constantly being reminded that I am "not from around here". Maybe its my accent, or that I wear shorts during the winter time. Most often its because of my naevity of the customs and sociology of the "south".
"Your not from around here, so let me tell you how its done" is a phrase that I hear too often.
